Nationally known as The Small Business Professor, Bruce Freeman is a bi-weekly syndicated small business columnist for The Tribune News Service. In addition to the news service, the Tribune Company owns The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times and many other publications, television and radio stations. His column, The Small Business Professor, is now distributed to over 1200 outlets in the U.S. and Canada. In 2006, Bruce received the journalist of the year award (NJ) from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Bruce is a co-author of the book, Birthing the Elephant, for Ten Speed Press a division of Random House Inc. He also hosted a regular radio program on the Smallbiz America Radio Network. A successful entrepreneur, Bruce founded Proline Communications providing marketing and public relations services (est 1991). Bruce Freeman has been quoted by The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, Reuters and US News & World Report. In addition, he has spoken at UPenn/Wharton, National Association of Women Business Owners (Louisville KY), Spalding University, Milburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the New Jersey Association of Woman Business Owners (NJAWBO). He was also selected to be a small business spokesperson for Brother International (2011).
Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Bruce was Director of Operations for PC Magazine’s product testing lab (Ziff Davis Publishing). He recently presented “The Entrepreneurial Mind” for the Wharton Technology Club at the University of Pennsylvania.
Bruce also served as Director of Corporate Services for Berkeley College bringing in major accounts. He was instrumental in fostering relationships for the career services department.
